A Brief Profile of Mangala Anand Devathu

Mangala is the disciple of renowned Guru’s. Bharata Shiromani, Smt. Padmini Ramachandran & Shingaramani B. Bhanumati she accomplished her Rangapravesham with the blessings of the Guru’s in the year 1995. She is currently under the patronage & Guidance of Guru. Bhanumati, who is well known for her expertise in Abhinaya.

With a performance career of over 13 years, Mangala has several performances to her credit both at prestigious festivals & Sabhas to name a few, the Hampi Festival, the National dance festival conducted by Sangeet Natak Academy, Telugu Vighnana Samiti, Every Friday Cultural Evening Programme, Nrityotsava sponsored by Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Besides being a solo performer, Mangala is a part of a luminous dance troupe of India - “Bharatanjali”.

In recognition of her brilliant talent as a young performing artist” she was chosen by the Department of Kannada & Culture to represent the state for an all India level workshop conducted by Nrityodaya, where she had the esteem privilege of being trained by the Veteran Guru.Padmashree. Dr. Padma Subramanyam. Mangala is an A graded artist and has performed for the national doordarshan TV.

In true spirit of this rich tradition, Mangala firmly believes in imparting this art form to young aspiring dancers through her dance institute “NRITYA BHARATHI” She has trained over 100 students in the past 9 years. She has been teaching dance in Carmel, Indiana for the last 3 years and has conducted workshops to propagate this rich performing Art in the US.
